Orthodontics is the specialty of dentistry that concerns the alignment of the teeth and malocclusions, which can lead to a series of discomforts and related problems: premature wear of the teeth, poor chewing, problems with the maxilla/mandible joint, incorrect breathing (with the mouth and not the nose) and less than optimal aesthetics.
The various types of orthodontic treatments

• Pediatric orthodontics-
As far as our children are concerned, a first orthodontic visit is advisable within the first or second grade, to evaluate the development of the dental arches, the state of the deciduous teeth and the eruption of the permanent teeth.
When necessary, the application of an orthodontic appliance at an early age can improve the development of the oral cavity, and avoid the onset of more serious and more expensive problems. Trust our dental practice and our specialists for an overall assessment of your child’s situation.
• Fixed orthodontics –
The most classic and effective method is that of fixed orthodontics, with the traditional dental appliance made up of metal or ceramic plates glued to the front of the tooth and wires passing through the entire arch, or with palatal appliances.
The use of these devices serves to transmit traction to the teeth in order to bring them into the correct position.

Mobile orthodontics, on the other hand, concerns the use of removable dental appliances by the patient.
These appliances can be used to correct existing teeth or to influence correct dental development (tooth eruption).
• Aesthetic orthodontics-
To obtain the benefits of orthodontics with the best possible aesthetic impact, materials can be used that blend in with the natural white of the teeth.
The main materials used for aesthetic orthodontics are sapphire, ceramic and zirconium.
